Hi friend,
Waiting is hard. And I donāt mean the kind of waiting where youāre just passing time. I mean the kind of waiting where your heart aches for an answer, when youāre praying for a breakthrough but nothing seems to be happening. The kind of waiting that makes you wonder if God even hears you.
Iāve been in those season. Iāve waited for doors to open that never did. Iāve prayed for clarity and felt like I was met with silence. Iāve struggled with uncertainty, feeling stuck while everyone else seemed to be moving forward. And honestly? Iāve had moments where I questioned if God had forgotten about me.
But He hadnāt. And He hasnāt forgotten about you either.
āThe Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.ā ā Lamentations 3:25
Looking back, I can see that the waiting wasnāt wasted. God was working, even when I couldnāt see it. He was preparing me, shaping me, teaching me to trust Him in a deeper way. And even though I still struggle with patience, Iāve learned a few things that help me lean into Godās plan instead of getting lost in the waiting.
How to Trust God in a Waiting Season
-
Remember What God Has Already Done ā When waiting feels unbearable, I remind myself of all the times God has come through for me before. I think about the prayers He has answered, the ways He has provided, and the moments when I thought things wouldnāt work out, but they did, in His perfect timing.
-
Pray with Expectation, Not Just Frustration ā Itās easy to come to God with our complaints (and trust me, I do), but Iām learning to shift my prayers. Instead of just asking why or when, I ask, Lord, what are You teaching me in this season? That small shift in perspective changes everything.
-
Let Go of the Timeline ā I like to know when and how things are going to happen. But Godās timing is not mine. Isaiah 55:8-9 reminds us that His ways are higher than ours. When I surrender my need to control the timeline, I find more peace in the process.
-
Stay Faithful in the Small Things ā Waiting seasons are not wasted seasons. Even when I donāt see big changes, I can still be faithful in the little things.Ā
-
Trust That God is Always Working ā Just because we donāt see movement doesnāt mean nothing is happening. Behind the scenes, God is aligning things in ways we canāt imagine. And when the time is right, He will make it happen (Isaiah 60:22).
If youāre in a waiting season right now, I want you to know that youāre not alone. God hasnāt forgotten you. He sees you, He loves you, and He is working all things together for your goodāeven in the waiting.
Hold on, friend. His timing is always perfect.
With love,
Kimberly
